Only plant-based oils and fats are used for the saponification and production of Wiener Seife.
Furthermore, no lanolin is used in the vegan hand soaps, shower soaps and hair soaps. However, due to its exceptional skin-nourishing properties, lanolin is deliberately used in many other soaps.
What is lanolin?
Lanolin is a by-product of sheep shearing. No sheep are bred solely for the production of lanolin. During shearing, the wool is shorn, and the lanolin is then skimmed off the wash water and purified. Lanolin is not only known for its skin-nourishing properties, but also helps with burns and grazes.
